There’s actually a simple formula that sums up what it takes to change the world. If you think about it, it’s a universal formula. It can be used on any level, from changing your life; to changing an organization; to changing a nation; to changing the world. I am going to call it the Master Formula:

                   CLEAR  +  ENOUGH   +   ENOUGH   –   DOUBTS &    –  COMPETING   =    MAJOR
                    VISION     METHODS    INCENTIVES    OBSTACLES       ACTIVITIES          CHANGE

To give you some confidence in this formula, let’s think of how a group of people in the last century decided to go to the Moon. They developed a clear vision:  Have men land on the Moon and return. Then they needed the methods. They needed to build and test a vehicle. Through several stages, a vehicle was developed: the Saturn Five rocket. Since they couldn’t fund the space program themselves, they needed to get Congress to fund it. They had to point out enough benefits to get Congress to appropriate the money. 

To get the money, they told Congress and the President that we would develop technology that would help the US defense program against the Soviet Union, and it would help the US regain prestige that was lost when the Soviets launched the first rocket into outer space.

They also had to eliminate doubts that it could be done. There were many unknowns at that time. Among them: whether humans could survive in zero-gravity; whether the surface of the moon was firm enough to allow liftoff;  whether the Command Module could withstand the heat of re-entry, etc.

They also needed to eliminate or downplay competing activities. At that time the Unites States was fighting a war in Vietnam. People opposed to the space program said that the money would be better spent to fight poverty. Others said that it funds would be better spent directly on anti-missile programs.

Nevertheless, in the face of these excellent counter-arguments, those who wanted to go to the Moon won out. They overcame every obstacle.

On this website, the different parts of Mighty Plan will be organized according to the Master Formula. Right now, you can understand the formula in this way: First, we need to start with a vision: the goal of a hundredfold reduction in suffering and death—and the stabilization of Earth’s life-support systems. Second, we need methods to get us to the goal. Third, enough people must have enough incentives and benefits to use the methods. Fourth, even if people have incentives, they won’t use the methods if they believe the goal is impossible. So, major doubts must be eliminated. Fifth, even with incentives, methods, and a belief that the goal is possible, people often prefer to do other “competing” activities. These competing activities must be made less alluring.

Below, you will find the links to all five parts of the Master Formula. But first, I need to say three things to prepare you.

1)  Not everyone needs to participate in Mighty Plan for it to work. I would be crazy if I thought everyone in the world would completely accept this plan.

2)  The upgrades and related methods of Mighty Plan have huge unprecedented firepower to rapidly change the world, but even I don't believe that the methods can take us all the way to a hundredfold reduction in preventable suffering and death on their own. Mighty Plan assumes two things: It assumes that current organizations and individuals that do life-saving good will either continue their work, or will use elements of Mighty Plan to increase the good they do. It also assumes that some people will use superprograms to create new upgrades that will finish the job of a hundredfold reduction in suffering. In other words, the plan is designed to get things rolling fast enough toward a goal of a hundredfold reduction in suffering and death. The upgrades currently in Mighty Plan might only take us a third of the way to the goal, but more importantly they will set the stage for people to have the skills to create further upgrades. To use an analogy, if a million dollar building needed to be built, Mighty Plan wouldn't be the million dollars, but it would be the $100,000 needed to hire enough fundraisers to raise the rest of the money needed.



3) Here's that Warning again:  Some upgrades of Mighty Plan increase the power of the other upgrades. This means two things:  First, some of the upgrades seem weak on their own, but when they are used with other upgrades, their power multiplies. (They are like a team of superheroes.)  Second, you may be tempted to use one of the upgrades by itself, for instance, 500B. But that would be like grinding seeds into flour instead of planting them in the ground.Yes, you can get food from ground seeds, but you can get 100 or 1,000 times more food if you plant the seeds. The warning is this: Humanity needs the combined power of the upgrades: If you use one of these upgrades alone, people may praise you, but in the end other people will suffer tremendously, because, to use the analogy, you fed them the seeds instead of planting them. Again: resist the impulse to break up this plan and use the pieces separately; if you do, I firmly believe that many people will suffer and die.

From here, you can start reading any of the five areas of the Master Formula. But in the end, you ought to read it all. For some people, those who still have serious doubts, it might be best to start in the doubts and obstacles section, and read how doubt after doubt is crushed or cut down so small that people aren't paralyzed by it. Other people may want to start with the methods, because they will want to see if Mighty Plan has the firepower to change the world.
